Top 100 Most Influential People of Our TIME

Each year, TIME Magazine issues a special edition that features their list of the top 100 most influential people who are shaping our world. The issue includes commentary by people who have been influenced by those who make the top 100 list. That special issue will hit stand tomorrow for those that enjoy turning the glossy pages by hand. But, you can get a sneak preview of the winners on their website, TIME.com. TIME has also been considering making a shift to an online version of the magazine, where you would still get the full spread, and “turn”pages the same as you would with the physical magazine. Well, this feature isn’t there yet, but you do get an awful lot of information about the people on the list.
Some of the people chosen this year, include Oprah, John Mayer, Kara Walker, Rosie O’Donnell, YouTube co-founders Steve Chen and Chad Hurley, the Queen, presidential hopefuls Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, Martin Scorsese, and Kate Moss.
And my personal favorite on the list – Sacha Baron Cohen. The creator and actor of Borat and Ali G was recognized for his comedic skills as well as his ability to push the envelope on prejudism so far that it couldn’t help but open people’s eyes.
Angelina Jolie tops the list of philanthropists, Tzipi Livni is on the list of leaders and revolutionaries (the second woman ever to hold a top foreign policy job in Israel), Al Gore hit the top of the charts for scientists and thinkers. Wait what? Did they really have to put him above Neil deGrasse Tyson? Well, Tyson made the list, only a page under Gore.
Definitely check it out, either here and now, or grab your copy tomorrow….
