M.I.A. Arctic Monkeys, Pumpkins Play Montreal Fest

Posted by Molli Fire on Friday, 11May07

The Canadian music festival, Osheaga, has yet another fantastic lineup for yet another fantastic looking music festival…. This one will be September 8-9th in Montreal.

Osheaga Lineup

From the Osheaga website :

The lineup for Osheaga 2007 is bulking up! NYC indie heroes Interpol will be joining the Osheaga festival line-up in its second year; British sensations Arctic Monkeys add a dose of chaos to the Osheaga mix; Irish troubadour Damien Rice returns to Montreal after pouring out his heart and soul for two (and soon to be three) sold out audiences in his last visits; M.I.A. (a.k.a. Maya Arulpragasam) hailing from the British Isles via the island of Sri Lanka brings da riddims to make ya move and will find herself right at home in the Osheaga island nation; hometown sweetheart Martha Wainwright makes her much anticipated return to Montreal; Texas noise stars Explosions in the Sky are back to light things up; Editors, the Birmingham indie quartet add to the European flavour of the festival; and Montreal up-and-comers Miracle Fortress and Pas Chic Chic show that this town knows how to rock – indie style!

Starting today, you can even purchase tix for single days – September 8th or 9th.

About the venue :

The Parc Jean Drapeau is a veritable open-air art gallery, in which works of public art and Architecture may be admired including: Alexander Calder’s “Man”, Buckminster Fuller’s Geodesic Dome, and Sebasitien’s “Puerta de la Amistad” among others.
